Gillingham NPT Weekly Update 11/10/2026

#GILLINGHAMNPT - CARNIVAL EDITION 🎉

You may have seen the team out last night around the carnival and funfair, we were there to make sure everyone had a fun and safe time 🎡. Luckily, the majority of people were well behaved, and caused no issues at all and allowed everyone else to enjoy the evening.

Here is a snapshot of what we got up to last night whilst we were all out on numerous hours of foot patrol:

💊 2 teens were stopped by PC Ash and PCSO Su after a distinct smell of cannabis came as they were walking past, using intelligence we have been gathering we stopped and searched them under Section 23 of the Misuse of Drugs Act, one teen has some cannabis on him and will be dealt with for this, the drugs have been seized and will be destroyed.

🏚️PC Brad and PCSO Vicky located a group of 10 teens in an abandoned building that is very unsafe, after giving stern words of advice, and sending them on their way we will be contacting Dorset Council and their parents to deal with the anti-social behaviour. We will continue to work with the land owners to try and make these places safe, but we are urging everyone not to go in these buildings as they are VERY unsafe and you may get stuck or injured if not worse.

👮‍♀️ Intelligence was gathered by the team in relation to some of our local nominals, which will later be inputted into the Police systems for future use. Please continue to report intelligence either online or via 101, we rely on the public to help us build the bigger picture.

🔍 Lots of engagement with the public, from families who live in Gillingham and beyond, it was lovely to speak to everyone and the little ones who were out enjoying themselves. It was a great opportunity for the

🚓 The team were able to catch some of the carnival, and you may have even had the chance to see PC Ed's dance if you were very lucky! Overall, we had a lovely evening speaking to everyone in the area, enjoying the carnival and keeping everyone safe. 🥳
